During severe drought in Maharashtra, around 40 people decided to come together to form Drought Help Group. They decided to connect drought-affected people to other citizens who wanted to either donate money or help some other way.A Facebook Group was formed to build a network and appeal people.Requirements for water storage tanks, water tankers, cleaning and widening of canals, and other needs were posted by villagers. Donors sent the help directly to the villagers.Drought help group is best example of how a simple social media tool can be leveraged to enable social media service to a huge population.
